CHESTNUTT NO-HITS THE LAKE HAWKS

The College of Central Florida Patriots' (20-12, 6-1) pitching staff has been stellar during their current seven game winning streak, but none more than today when Ben Chestnutt tossed a five-inning no-hitter in the Pats 12-0 win over the Lake Sumter State College Lake Hawks (11-17, 2-6). Chestnutt struck out eight batters and improved his record to 5-0 on the season.

The Patriots scored six runs in the top of the second inning. Nicholas Calero's sacrifice fly got the Pats on the board first. Jared Evans then singled home Carson Bayne to push the lead to 2-0. Kevin Kilpatrick's deep home run to left and Caleb Cali's home run to right centerfield gave CF a 6-0 lead. In the third an RBI single by Calero and a sac fly by Evans made it an 8-0 game after three innings. The Patriots weren't done swinging just yet as Victor Castillo connected for a three-run home run in the top of the fourth. Another RBI single by Calero gave the Pats their final margin of victory at 12-0.
