Patriots Defeat Falcons to Extend Winning Streak

The College of Central Florida Patriots (17-12, 3-1) used the same formula of strong starting pitching and timely hitting to run their winning streak to four games when they defeated the Daytona State College Falcons (13-6, 1-4) 10-2 on Sunday afternoon at Goodlett Field.

Landon Ginn (2-1) started on the mound and went a solid five innings, allowing only two hits, one run and striking out 10 batters. Sam Swygert pitched the last two innings allowing only one unearned run and striking out two. The timely hitting was supplied by a host of Patriots who had run scoring singles including Caleb Cali, David Pereira, Nicholas Calero, John Marant, and Jared Evans who had two clutch RBI singles. Evans finished the game going 2 for 3 with 3 RBI.

The third and final game of the series will be played on Monday, 2:00 PM in Daytona.
