CALI & CHESTNUTT POWER PATS OVER DAYTONA 12-2

The College of Central Florida Patriots (16-12, 2-1) used power pitching from Ben Chestnutt and the powerful bat of Caleb Cali to route the Daytona State College Falcons (13-5, 1-3) 12-2 in six innings at Goodlett Field on Friday afternoon.

Chestnutt improved his record to 4-0 by tossing a six-inning complete game allowing only two runs, five hits and striking out nine Falcon batters. Offensively the Patriots were led by Cali who went 2 for 2 with a grand slam and five RBI. It was Cali's second game in a row with a home run. Victor Castillo added two hits and two RBI and John Marant stayed hot with two hits and three runs scored.

The Patriots and Falcons juggled the original schedule to accommodate all the rainy weather this weekend. Saturday's game will be postponed and the two teams will meet once again at Goodlett Field in Ocala on Sunday for a 1:00 PM start and conclude the three game series in Daytona on Monday at 2:00 PM.
