Marant Blasts Two Home Runs to Lead Pats in 4-3 Win Over Tallahassee

The Patriots are now on a three-game winning streak after their 4-3 win over Tallahassee Community College (5-2) on Wednesday evening in Tallahassee. John Marant supplied all the offense for the Pats by belting two massive home runs. The first home run was a three-run shot in the third inning that erased a 1-0 Eagles lead. Marant's second blast was a solo HR in the eighth inning that broke a 3-3 tie and would be the difference in the game.

Aaron Combs started for the College of Central Florida (5-5) and went 4 innings allowing only three hits, one unearned run and striking out three. After relief pitchers Yehoshua Garcia, James Hill and Ty Moody worked 2.2 innings to keep the  game close giving up only two unearned runs and three hits, Parker Seay (1-2) delivered a stellar pitching performance over the last 2.1 innings, allowing no runs, no hits and striking out four to earn the win.

Nicholas Calero had a multiple hit game going 2 for 4 with a double.

The team is back on the road for the third time this week with a game against South Florida State College on Friday, 1:00 PM in Avon Park. The Pats return to Goodlett Field on Saturday with a doubleheader against ASA Miami. Gametimes are Noon and 3:00 PM.
