PATRIOTS TOP TNXL ACADEMY 7-3

It only took three pitches from the College of Central Florida's (11-9) starting pitcher Ben Chestnutt to fall behind 2-0 when TNXL's Charles Davalan led off with a single followed by a home run by Ashton Wilson. But that's about all the offense the Ducks could muster off Chestnutt as he settled down to throw six innings, giving up only those two runs on five hits and striking out eight in the Patriots 7-3 win. Chestnutt was credited with the win and raised his season record to 3-0.

The Pats would take the lead 3-2 in the second inning when Nicholas Calero singled home a run, followed by sacrifice flies from Jared Evans and Kevin Kilpatrick. CF scored a solo run in the sixth on a John Marant bases loaded fielder's choice. In the Pats' seventh inning sloppy defense by TNXL brought in two runs and a deep triple to center field by Kilpatrick brought home two more runs to give the Pats a 7-2 lead.

Kilpatrick finished the day 3 for 3 with 3 RBI and Carson Bayne went 2 for 4. James Hill and Parker Seay closed out the final three innings allowing only one run on one hit and striking out three.
