The College of Central Florida Patriots rode their ace pitcher, Kyle LaCalameto (6-0) to get back into the win column by defeating the Seminole State College Raiders, 6-3 on Saturday afternoon in Sanford.

LaCalameto remained undefeated on the season by tossing six innings, allowing only two earned runs, six hits, and striking out seven batters. "It feels great beating a quality team that had a nice winning streak going. I'm glad we got back to winning games and I have a feeling my team can make a run in the Mid-Florida Conference tournament." Said Starting pitcher Kyle LaCalameto.

Some sloppy Patriots defense and a clutch double by the Seminole's Zach Levenson staked the Raiders to a 2-0 first inning lead.

The Pats (35-14, 12-9) took the lead with one swing of the bat when Tre Hondras connected for his fourth home run of the season, a three run shot over the left field wall.

The Raiders (26-14, 14-6) would tie the game at 3-3 when Corey King singled home Jack Speights with two outs in the fifth inning.

The game remained tied until the top of the seventh inning when Carlos Gonzalez and Nicholas Calero led off with back to back singles followed by a two run double by Matthew Cedarburg. Kevin Kilpatrick's sacrifice fly pushed the lead to 6-3. Cedarburg finished the game going 3 for 4 with two doubles and two RBI, Hondras 1-4, HR, 3 RBI, and Jeslyn Whitehead was 2 for 4.

The Patriots bullpen of Francisco Mateo (1 IP, 0R, 1H, 1K), Evan Michelson (1 IP, 0R, 0H, 1K) and Ben Chestnutt (1 IP, 0R, 0H, 1K, Save (2)) shutdown the Raiders over the final three innings.

CF returns home to play the last two regular season games this week with a Monday 3:00 p.m. game against St. John's River State College and a Wednesday 3:00 p.m. game against Santa Fe State College.
