Pats Run Rule Falcons 9-0 in 7 Innings

The College of Central Florida Patriots (20-5, 2-0) scored early and often in their 9-0 win over Daytona State College (10-5, 0-2).
Nicholas Calero started the barrage for the Pats when he singled home Matt Cedarburg and Kyler Hultgren with two outs in the first inning for a 2-0 lead. The hits continued in the second inning as Miguel Useche and Kevin Kilpatrick had RBI singles to push the lead to 4-0. Useche finished the day 3 for 4 with 2 RBI and Kilpatrick went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI. Jeslyn Whitehead also added three singles.
Francisco Mateo committed to the University of Tampa on Monday and celebrated by throwing five shutout innings on Wednesday. Mateo struck out ten Falcons to improve to 3-0 on the season. "I struggled with command in the first inning, but settled down and had all my pitches working after that." Parker Seay and Logan Clayton each threw an inning to complete the seven inning shutout.
CF will be back at home on Friday to finish the series with Daytona State College. First pitch 3:00 PM.
