#CFBASEBALL CLINCHES CONFERENCE TITLE, HEADS TO FCSAA STATE TOURNAMENT

OCALA-- The College of Central Florida baseball team has solidified the No. 1  conference seed in the upcoming FCSAA State Baseball Tournament after run-ruling Daytona State College 8-0 in seven innings to clinch the 2019 Mid-Florida Conference title for the first time since 2007.

This is the sixth conference title under head coach Marty Smith and the most wins ever posted by a CF baseball squad in program history (43). 

The FCSAA State Baseball Tournament, a double-elimination tournament, will get underway May 10-14 at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland, Fla. With the MFC No. 1 seed, the Patriots' tournament play will get underway on Friday, May 10 at 10 a.m. against the Southern Conference runner-up that is yet to be determined. A first-round win, and the Patriots would advance on in the winner's bracket to face the winner of Northwest Florida State (Panhandle No. 1) and Suncoast runner-up that has yet to be determined on Saturday, May 11 at 4 p.m. A loss would drop CF down into the loser's bracket to face the loser of the aforementioned game on Saturday at 10 a.m.
