#CFBASEBALL RANKED NO. 1 IN NJCAA

OCALA-- The College of Central Florida baseball team goes from preseason unranked to NJCAA No. 1, per first official NJCAA Baseball Div. I National Rankings released by the association on Tuesday afternoon.

FCSAA and NJCAA No. 1 Patriots did not receive preseason votes in the state or national polls prior to the beginning of the season, but a 22-game win streak and 22-1 overall record helped surge the squad to the top of the state and national polls.

CF is off to one of the hottest starts in all of juco baseball, currently the only NJCAA Div. I program in the country with just one loss on the season.

The Patriot offense currently leads the state in almost every offensive category, including: home runs (24), RBI (167), batting average (.332), on-base percentage (.440), and slugging percentage (.524). The Patriots also lead the NJCAA in RBI and rank No. 3 in total home runs.

Individually, sophomore third baseman Ricky Presno leads the state (Top 3 in NJCAA) in home runs with six, while freshman outfielder James Nix leads the state in batting average (.449). Transfer first baseman Nolan Machibroda ranks third in the state, No. 4 in the NJCAA, with 28 RBI on the year.

CF baseball returns to the field on Wednesday as it looks to sweep the three-game series with Seminole State College. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
