#CFBASEBALL SPLITS, HEAD COACH MARTY SMITH 1 WIN AWAY FROM 700

OCALA--CF head baseball coach Marty Smith with have to wait another game for a chance to secure his 700th win after his Patriots split with South Georgia State College and Florida Southwestern State College on Saturday at Goodlett Field.

FCSAA No. 9 CF (9-6-1) started the day with a 3-1 win over South Georgia before falling 17-10 to FSW.

Blake Marabell led CF at the plate going 4-for-6 with five RBI, including a three-run homer against FSW, in the doubleheader. Luis Medina (2-for-5) hit a league-leading tenth home run of the season in game two.

Franklin Hernandez came in to throw two scoreless innings in game one to pick up his first win as a Patriot, while Pablo Toranzo picked up his first save of the season. 

In game two, Ben Koff allowed 10 earned runs on 12 hits and five walks in four innings in the loss.

CF will return to action on Wednesday when they host Thomas University JV for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
