OCALA--College of Central Florida right-handed pitcher Ryan Aspinwall pitched a complete game (7 IN) shutout to lead the Patriots past Seminole 11-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
CF, now 3-2 in Mid-Florida Conference play, got on the board in the bottom of the second off a sacrifice fly to left from Blake Marabell. An inning later, the Patriots exploded for six runs and would later plate an additional four to enforce the 10-run rule after seven innings.
Aspinwall blanked the Raider offense, scattering six hits and striking out eight in the win
At the plate, freshman David Flores went a perfect 5-for-5 with three RBI and three runs scored. Other key contributors include: Matt Coello (3-for-3, 2 RBI, RS), Christian Smallwood (2-for-4, RBI), and Steven Lugo (2-for-4, RBI).
CF will head back on the road on Friday to round out the three-game series with Seminole. They will be back at home on Saturday when they host Florida State College at Jacksonville at 1 p.m.
