Baseball defeats conference rival FSC-Jacksonville

OCALA- Down by three runs after three innings of play, the College of Central Florida baseball team came up with seven unanswered runs over the next two innings and went on to defeat visiting FSC-Jacksonville 8-6 on Saturday afternoon at Goodlett Field.

With the win, CF (17-11, 3-3) evened its record in Mid-Florida Conference play.

After taking the lead with four runs in the fourth, Malik Tatis hit a three-run homer in the fifth for the Patriots, who went up 8-4.

FSC-J had two late runs, but CF's Luke Heyer was able to keep them at bay.

Ryan Crile (3-for-4, run scored, home run, RBI), Justin Ambrosino (1-for-4, run scored), Colby Brown (3-for-4, run scored, double), Heyer (run scored), Tatis (2-for-4, three RBI, two runs scored, home run), Mira (1-for-3, two RBI, double) and Andrew Frazier (1-for-3, RBI) led the way at the plate for CF.

On the mound, Cooper Wallace earned the win after going six innings. Wallace allowed four runs on nine hits. He walked three and struck out six.

CF returns to action with a road game at FSC-J on Monday afternoon.
