CF Baseball sweeps Jackson College

OCALA- The College of Central Florida baseball team picked up an impressive sweep of Jackson (Mich.) College on Monday afternoon at Goodlett Field.

The Patriots (14-8) earned wins of 8-4 and 23-0 to head into the conference season on a high note.

CF rallied from a 4-0 deficit in the opener.

After scoring once in the fifth, the Patriots ripped off seven runs in the bottom of the sixth and earned the win.

Andrew Frazier (run scored, RBI), Nick Mira (1-for-3, run scored, two RBI, double), Ryan Crile (run scored), Christian Khawam (1-for-2, two runs scored, RBI, home run), Justin Ambrosino (1-for-4, two RBI), Colby Brown (1-for-3, run scored, RBI, double) and Malik Tatis (1-for-2, run scored, triple) led the way for the Patriots.

From there, CF turn the second game into a laughter, as it scored 10 times in the first inning and 13 more runs in the second.

Brown drove in seven runs with a 4-for-4 effort, which included a homer and two doubles. He also scored three times.

Crile (3-for-4, four runs scored, three RBI, two doubles), Khawam (4-for-4, three doubles, four runs scored, four RBI), Ambrosino (1-for-2, two runs scored, two RBI), Tatis (2-for-4, two runs scored, three RBI), Dalton Mauldin (3-for-4, three runs scored, RBI), Luke Heyer (1-for-4, run scored, two RBI) and Bryan Mejia (2-for-3, two runs scored) backed Brown in the second game.

Up next for CF is its Mid-Florida Conference opener at home against rival Santa Fe on Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m.

The game will kick off a three-game set with the Saints, which includes a trip to Gainesville on Friday, followed by another home game for CF with SFC on Saturday at 1 p.m.
