Four CF Baseball players sign with four-year schools

OCALA-- A quartet of baseball players from last year's impressive run in the FCSAA State Tournament for the College of Central Florida baseball team have found homes at the four-year level.

Collin Woody signed with UNC Greensboro, while pitchers Ryan Kopenski, Ricky Page and Kenny McDonald have all committed to Florida A&M.

Woody ended his career with a legendary performance against Gulf Coast State in an elimination game at the state tournament.

In that game, Woody went the distance in his first start since high school and also homered, all while feeling under the weather. He hit .310 with three homers and 35 RBI for the season.

Page and McDonald were stellar out of the bullpen and had just three combined appearances where they allowed inherited runners to score.

For Page, he also earned CF's Male Academic Athlete of the Year and was also nominated for the Bill Tuten Award, which is given to the top male student-athlete in baseball for the entire state.

A graduate of Ocala Forest High, Page had a 1.20 ERA in 15 appearances for CF last season.

McDonald, out of Ocala Vanguard High, earned CF's Patriot Award and was the winning pitcher out of the bullpen against eventual national runner-up Miami Dade at the state tournament.

For the year, McDonald was 2-0 with a 1.97 ERA for the Patriots.

Another key member of the CF pitching staff was Kopenski, who was 2-0 with a 5.75 ERA this past season for CF.
