Odalys Cordova Named State Player of the Year

Coach Lingle knew he had a special young lady when Odalys Cordova stepped on the field here at CF.  Cordova (a transfer from UF) made her presence known throughout the state at shortstop and at the plate.  The flashy shortstop held down the infield while only committing 4 errors in 138 chances.  At the plate, the 3 hole hitter put up “video game like numbers” while collecting a staggering 45 extra base hits in 54 games.  Cordova completed the season with an astounding 100 RBI’s with 20 doubles, 5 triples,  20 HR’s, and 23 stolen bases.  For her efforts on the field Odalys Cordova was crowned FSCAA State Player of the Year.  This is only the 2nd time in Patriot history that an athlete has received this award (2016- Brooke Barlow).  The sophomore from Mascott, FL will go down in Patriot history as one of the top players to have ever worn a Patriot jersey.
