Powerful in Pink: Pats Set PRs and Season Bests
The Lady Patriots ran in pink to raise awareness of breast cancer during their foggy, Friday the 13th morning race. Not only did the women feel powerful in pink, but several raced to new records.

Freshman Magda Barcia (24:20) set a season best following sophomore Brianna Carey's (24:12) lead. Freshman Iraly Faria (25:42) ran a new personal record (PR). Rounding out the top 5 were sophomore Heidi Kearney (27:04) and freshman Simone Hamilton (27:42).

Caitlin Perusse (32:15) made her collegiate debut pacing off of teammate Myra Hill, who ran the 5k course in 31:56.

The Pats have their sights set on fast times during their return to Apalachee Regional Park on October 24 for the FCSAA Region 8 Championship Race. Team veterans will run the Tallahassee course for the fifth time (3 races last season) and newcomers will have their second shot at the course this season. With great excitement, the Patriots look forward to the championship prior to the NJCAA Nationals held in Alabama during November. Go Pats!
