Cross Country Heads to Nationals with 7 Personal Records

On a cloudy, chilly Friday morning at Apalachee Regional Park, October 28, 2022 the CF Women's Cross Country team showed up to run fast in the NJCAA/FCSAA Region 8 Meet. According to Coach Lumley, the execution of pack running and pacing off of teammates could not have been done any better! Brianna Carey set the pace and teammates paced accordingly off of one another. Nearly all the Patriots beat their course time from the same course which they ran as the season opener in September.  The whole team ran standout performances.

Carey beat her lifetime PR and high school best by running a 22:34. Heidi Kearney ran 23:35, Madison Strickland 26:30, Trinity Bonner 26:39, Kalyn Sitterson 28:22, Michelle Kalms 29:32, Christal Best 30:21, and Jalin Crowell 31:18.  Bonner beat her previous best time by 3 minutes.

The team will again run Apalachee Regional Park for the National meet at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, November 12.  The ladies will also compete in the National half marathon on November 15 in Tallahassee.
