Pats Get Two Wins on Run Rules Over St Pete

The Pats Softball team improved to 8-0 in Citrus Conference play and 17-5 on the season with their doubleheader sweep over St Pete today. The Patriots were trailing 2-0 in both games and came from behind for run rules. 

Game 1: CF 10 - SPC 2

The Lady Pats scored six runs in the fourth inning to secure the lead over the Titans. Hailey Scott doubled to score a run and Emma Rogel later hit a bases loaded triple to score three more runs. Zoe Riley led the Pats going 3 for 4 with a double and two runs. Carly Allen earned the win throwing four innings and allowing only three hits and two runs while striking out seven. She improves to 2-0 n the year.

Game 2: CF 11 - SPC 2

Hailey Scott had two more big hits for the Pats in game two, including a game ending grand slam. She drove in six runs in the game going 3 for 4 at the plate with the HR and a double. The Pats hit five doubles in the game coming off the bats of: Amber Daugherty, Scott, Hayley Turner, Mackenzie Fritz, Madison VanAllen. Haley Guffey erned her sixth win of the season. She surrendered four hits and two runs in her six innings pitched. She struck out three and walked one. 

The first place Patriots will play again tomorrow for their third doubleheader in three days. They host Hillsborough Community College. First pitch of Game one will be at 1 PM.
