Patriots Sweep Falcons to Win Conference Series

Central Florida Softball defeats Daytona twice, 8-4 and 9-0 to improve to 38-9 and 8-1 in Mid-Florida Conference games. Gianna Guerriero led the Pats in game one going 4 for 4 with two home runs. Brooke Roberts and Katie Hogue also homered to help the Pats offense who blasted four home runs. Emily Konz also had a great day at the plate, going 3 for 4 with a run scored.

Anna Toon threw a complete game, scattering five hits and striking out eight. She allowed four runs, only one of which was earned and walked one. The win improved her record to 6-2 for the season.

In game two the Pats blanked the Falcons 9-0 in five innings due to the mercy rule. Haley Guffey pitched four strong innings, only allowing two hits and striking out two to earn her 23rd win of the year. Emma Wyman closed it out in the fifth to secure the win. 

Brooke Roberts continues to swing a hot bat hitting her 21st home run of the season and Hannah Meyer hit her 7th home run. Guerriero and Megan Loftis both had two hits and two runs scored int he game. 

The Patriots sit on top of the Conference Standings and will play Sante Fe next with a single game on Tuesday at Santa Fe and a double header on Thursday at home.
