Pats Win Resumed Game 9-5 and Lose 6-5 to Seminole State

The Patriots Softball team matched up again with Seminole State on Tuesday. They resumed play from Saturday's game 2 that was halted due to lighting. The Pats had a 9-4 lead in the top of the 6th. They held the Raiders to onlt one more run and won 9-5. Haley Guffey got the win for the Pats, throwing 5 innings allowing four runs, on five hits while striking out seven. Emma Wyman finished the game throwing two innings and striking out six while giving up one run. Brooke Roberts and Cameron Wolfenden both hit home runs in the game.

In the regularly scheduled game Central Florida took a tough 6-5 loss. Seminole State got on the board early scoring two in the first off of starter Emma Wyman, who had finished the resumed game. Brooke Roberts responded with a home run in the bottom of the inning, her 23rd of the season. The Patriots got another back in the second before Seminole scored three more in the third to go up 5-2. CF tied it back up in the bottom of the inning. Releiver Guffey held the Raiders in check until they led of the seventh with a solo home run to go ahead 6-5 and the Pats came up empty in the bottom of the inning. 

The Patriots sit in first place in the Mid-Florida COnference standings at 12-3 with a two game lead over Seminole who is 10-5. CF has one final 3-game series left vs Daytona and Seminole and Santa Fe match up for their final three games. A CF win or Seminole loss will clinch first place for the Pats.

The Daytona series begins on Thursday with a single game at home at 3 PM. All sophomores will be recognized before the game.
