CF Run Rules Queens in Both Games

The #8 nationally ranked Central Florida Patriots improve to 27-5 with big wins over Queens College on Monday afternoon, 9-1 and 21-1. Game 1 was tight in the fifth win the Patriots having a 2-1 lead before the offense exploded for a seven run inning to end the game in a run rule. In the inning, Trinity Armstrong and Hailey Scott both tripled, Gianna Guerriero, Megan Loftis and Emily Konz all singled and Cameron Wolfenden homered to end the game. 

Anna Toon was solid in the circle for the Pats throwing five innings allowing only one run on three hits and a walk while striking out two. She earned her fourth win on the season to improve to 4-2.

In game two the Patriots scored early and often with two runs in the first inning, one in the second, five in the third and 13 in the fourth. They were led by Brooke Roberts who was 4-4 with 4 R, 5 RBI, 3 doubles and a home run. Anna Toon also homered and collected two hits while driving in four runs. Katie Sexton (2-3, 2R, 2RBI), Madi Wicihowski (2-4, 2R, 3RBI), and Gianna Guerriero (2-4, 2 RBI, 2B, 3B) all had multiple hits in the game.

Haley Guffey picked up her fourteenth win of the season, surrendering only one run on one hit and two walks, striking out six. Guffey has been tremendous in the circle for the Patriots and has not lost since her Feb 3rd start against Chipola when she only surrendered two runs. 

The Patriots play again on Tuesday, March 7th at home vs St Johns River in a double header starting at 2 pm.
