CF Softball Takes Two from FSCJ

Central Florida Softball puts up 28 runs in two games vs Florida State College at Jacksonville at home on Saturday. They won game one 17-1 and game two 11-1. With these wins the Patriots improve to 30-6 overall.

In game one Anna Toon took the circle for the Pats and threw four innings giving up only one run on five hits and a walk while striking out seven. Ashley Martinec closed out the last inning without allowing a runner to reach. The Patriot offense put up 18 hits with home runs by Brooke Roberts and Cameron Wolfenden. The Patriots also stole nine bases in the game. Leading hitters: Gianna Guerriero (2-4, 2 R), Brooke Roberts (3-4, 2 r, 4 RBI, HR), Hannah Meyer (2-3, 2 RBI, 2B), Hailey Scott (2-3), and Katie Sexton (2-2, 2 RBI).

In game two the Pats only needed four innings of at bats to run rule the Blue Wave. Emily Konz, Gianna Guerriero, and Brooke Roberts all homered. Roberts now has 17 home runs on the season and is hitting .418 with a .943 slugging percentage. Haley Guffey threw four innings for the win, striking out five and allowing only one run on four hits. Emma Wyman closed out the last inning, striking out two and not allowing any hits. 

The Patriots next game will be on the road on Tuesday 3/14 when they travel to Florida Southwestern for a double header.
