CF Dominates Hillsborough 8-1 and 9-1

The College of Central Florida Lady Pats traveled to Tampa, FL to play at Hillsborough and came out with two big wins. In game one the Patriots racked up 12 hits and used a big inning in the 6th where they scored five runs to put the Hawks away. Emily Konz led off the inning with a single and later scored on a single by Gianna Guerriero. Megan Loftis hit an RBI single to score Alyiah Millstein, who pinch ran for Katie Hogue, and then Brooke Roberts cleared the bases with a 3-run homer, her fourth of the year. Guerriero (2-4, 2 RBI), Loftis (2-4, R, RBI, SB) and Hailey Scott (2-4, R, SB) all had multiple hits in the game. Anna Toon scattered three hits in her five innings of work, allowing only 1 run and striking out five. 

In game two the Patriot offense kept the pressure on the Hawks scoring two runs early in the first inning. Hailey Scott had an RBI ground out with the bases loaded and Katie Sexton score Anna Toon on a single to left. The Patriots got a big inning in the third powered by singled from Roberts, Konz, and Toon along with a double from Hogue. Haley Guffey was dominant on the mound for her 5th win of the year (5-1). She racked up 10 strikeouts while not giving up any runs and only three hits while walking one.

The next match up for the Patriots will be on the road again on Saturday February 11th when they travel to Bradenton, FL to play the State College of Florida Manatees at 1 pm and 3 pm.
