The Patriots played a doubleheader at Indian River State College on Friday and dropped the first game 5-0, but bounced back in game two to shutout the Pioneers 2-0. Central Florida's powerful offense was held in check by Indian River's pitcher Varga in who threw a complete game and struck out eight batters in game one. The Patriots only managed two hits. Megan Loftis and Emily Konz both singled. Emma Wyman took the loss for the Pats, pitching four innings and allowing four runs on four hits, two walks and three strikeouts.

In game two the Patriots got on the board early with a two-out RBI double by Brooke Roberts to score Konz who led off the game with a single. They later added another run in the sixth inning when Roberts hit a fly ball to the Pioneer second baseman but she was unable to catch it and this allowed Loftis to score on the error and put CF up by two. Haley Guffey once again threw well for the Patriots earning her eighth victory on the season. She pitched a complete game shutout, allowing only two hits and striking out six.

The Lady Patriots next games will be on Thursday, Feb 23rd when they travel to Jacksonville to play Florida State College at Jacksonville at 2 and 4 pm.
