Lady Pats Win 4-1 and 10-2 at St Johns River

The #3 ranked Central Florida Patriots take down former conference foe St Johns River twice on Monday, Feb 13th. Haley Guffey was stellar on the rubber for the Pats throwing another 7 inning complete game, allowing only one run on two hits and striking out 12 Vikings. CF scored one run in the second inning on an error by the Vikings on a Katie Hogue flyball to centerfield which allowed Avery Lawson to score. Brooke Roberts also brought a run home in the second when she was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. This put the Patriots up 3-0. Emily Konz later added to the lead with a solo homer, her first of the year, in the fourth inning. 

In game two the Patriots scored early and often, putting up three in the first inning, two in the second and, and three more in the third. CF racked up 10 hits and took advantage of five errors and three walks by St Johns to win 10-2. Leading hitters for the Pats were Brooke Roberts (2-4, R, 2 RBI, 2B, SB), Cameron Wolfenden (3-3, 2 R, RBI, 2 2B, HR) and Trinity Armstrong (2-3). Ashley Martinec threw a complete game six innings for the win, allowing only 2 runs (both unearned) on hits and struck out four batters. 

The Patriots improve to 13-3 and will play next at the #6 ranked Indian River State College on Friday, Feb 17 at 1 pm and 3 pm in Fort Pierce.
