Szymanowski, Underwood and Hanners honored at CF Athletic Banquet

OCALA-- The College of Central Florida held its annual athletics banquet and numerous student-athletes were honored for their excellence over the course of the 2013-2014 school year.

Caylee Underwood led the honorees, as she received the Dr. James Harvey Athletic Achievement Award to cap off the event. Underwood became the first female student-athlete to win the Harvey Award, which is awarded to a student-athlete who embodies excellent ethical character, commitment to service, the college, the athletic program and fellow students.

 

Her teammate Amy Szymanowski earned CF's female sports MVP and Academic Achievement Award, as well as softball MVP.

  

Christian Khawam was named CF's male sports MVP, as well as the baseball team's MVP. Khawam's teammate, Ricky Page, earned the male Academic Achievement Award.

 

Javonte Douglas (men's basketball), Kai Jones (women's basketball) and Raveen Golston (volleyball) also were named MVP for their respective sports.

 

Patriot Award winners included: Kenny McDonald (baseball), Tre Wilson (men's basketball), Brittany Grant (women's basketball), Autumn Hanners (softball) and Wilmarys Ramos (volleyball).

 

Appreciation Award winners included: Joe Follman (men's basketball), Dr. Kimberly Hannah-Jones (women's basketball), Ron Mallory (softball), Lanny Abshier (baseball) and Brick City (volleyball).
