The College of Central Florida Patriots punched their ticket to the FCSAA State Championship Final Four when they defeated Florida Southwestern State 12-6 on Saturday in the Ocala Regional. The win completed the two game sweep of the Buccaneers in the best of three series. With the win the Patriots broke the school record for wins with 48 and improved their record to 48-6.

Central Florida would score in every inning except for the second inning,  but didn't grab the lead for good until the sixth inning when the Pats plated two runs on a Carson Bayne sacrifice fly and a Juan Correa RBI single. This gave the Pats a 7-5 lead. Three more runners would score in the seventh inning on a bases loaded walk, an RBI single by John Marant, and a groundout by Bayne pushing the lead to 10-5.

The Bucs hung with the Patriots early, but the combination of relief pitchers Isaac Sewell (0.2 IP, H, 0R, K, W 9-2) and Cam Schuelke (4.0 IP, 3H, 1R, 3K, Save #8) over the last five innings shut the door on any chance FSW thought they had.

Bradke Lohry and Juan Correa each went 2-5 with two RBI, and Kainen Jorge hit his 13th home run of the season to lead the Pats offense.

CF will next play on Friday, 5:00 PM at Joker Marchant Stadium in Lakeland against the winner of the Niceville Regional. That regional will hold a winner take all game three on Sunday pitting host Northwest State College against Polk State College.
