The College of Central Florida Patriots (42-4, 15-3) and the Santa Fe College Saints (35-8, 11-7) were tied for first place in the Mid-Florida Conference heading into the four game series this week, but now you'll find the Patriots with a four game cushion after sweeping the series with a 12-4 run rule win on Saturday in Gainesville. The Patriots also beat the Saints on Wednesday 7-6 and twice on Friday, 13-12 and 12-4.

Brian Holiday settled down after a shaky start and threw a complete game seven innings, allowing only one earned run, five hits, and twelve strikeouts. Holiday improves his record to a perfect 6-0.

The offense smashed four home runs on the day with John Marant (4-5) hitting his twelfth, Carson Bayne (2-3) hitting his seventh, Juan Correa his sixteenth, and Kainen Jorge is twelfth. The team is within two home runs of breaking the team season record of 96 home runs set last year by the squad that made it to the JUCO World Series.

Conference play continues on Monday when the Patriots travel to Daytona State College for a 3:00 PM game. The Patriots have six more conference games, two with each team, to finish the season.
