CF Wins 7-2 Over Daytona in First Conference Game

After winning 24 of 25 non-conference games to start the season, the Patriots opened up Mid-Florida Conference play with a 7-2 win over Daytona State College in Daytona on Wednesday afternoon.

Andrew Herrmann (3-0) kept the Falcon hitters off balance through 5.1 innings allowing only two hits, one run, and striking out six batters. Isaac Sewell, Keller Eberly, and Cam Schuelke tossed the final 3.2 innings allowing only one run with six strikeouts.

Offensively the Pats were led by Edwin Toribio who delivered four hits including two doubles and two RBI. John Marant crushed his eighth home run of the season and added a run scoring double. Kainen Jorge knocked in a run with a triple to deep left field.

The #1 NJCAA team in the country improves to 25-1, 1-0 and will host Daytona State College in game two of the three game series on Friday at 1:00 PM.
