The Patriots could not hold on to a three run lead and fell to the Daytona State College Falcons 7-5 on Friday afternoon in Daytona. The loss dropped the Pats to 33-4, 7-3.

CF jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on a Carson Bayne double in the first inning. Cole Bullen connected on his second home run of the season in the fourth to make it a 3-0 game. Pats starting pitcher Brian Holiday was cruising through four innings, but things unraveled in the fifth. A wild pitch scored one, then a two-run single by Adam Parzych tied the game at 3. In the sixth inning Hayden Henry and Parzych had rbi singles and Jeremy Cardona doubled home two more to give the Falcons a 7-3 lead.

The Pats got one run back on a sacrifice fly by Juan Correa and another run on Bayne's sixth home run of the season, but it wasn't enough as the Falcons held on for the victory. The win was the first Falcons win over CF in eleven tries. Daytona improves to 15-16, 2-9.

The teams will meet again on Saturday, April 1, 1:00 PM in Ocala for the final game of the three game series.
