Pats Win Tight Game 3-2 Over Eastern Florida to Improve to 7-0

The College of Central Florida (7-0) remained perfect on the season after they rallied for a 3-2 win over the Eastern Florida State College Titans in Melbourne Monday evening. Andrew Herrmann started for the Pats and went 5.1 innings allowing only two runs on three hits while striking out three. Keller Eberly relieved Herrman and earned the win with 2.0 innings pitched allowing only one hit, no runs and three strike outs. Cam Schuelke closed out the final 1.2 innings to earn his second save of the year. Schuelke gave up no runs, no hits and struck out three.

The Titans jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a Dalton Robinson ground ball and an RBI double by Eddiel Tolentino. CF finally got on the board when Juan Correa hit his first HR of the season to make it 2-1 Titans after five innings. A two out single by Carson Bayne in the sixth inning tied the score at 2-2. The Patriots took the lead for good in the eighth inning when with two outs Edwin Toribio reached on an error, Kainen Jorge singled to right field and Michael Guilliams singled home the go ahead run.

The Patriots are currently ranked #1 in the FCSAA Coaches Poll and will play again on Wednesday, February 8th, 2:00 PM at Goodlett Field in Ocala against Hillsborough Community College.
