Pats Defeat #3 Ranked State College of Florida 10-6

The #1 FCSAA ranked College of Central Florida Patriots (12-0) were down 4-1 after one inning to the #3 ranked State College of Florida Manatees (9-6), but found some self motivation and rallied for a 10-6 win. The Pats were still down three runs in the top of the fifth inning when John Marant doubled home Thad Ector and Bradke Lohry to cut the lead to one. Carson Bayne then doubled in Marant to tie the score at 4-4. The game didn't stay tied for long as SCF's Brayden Woodburn connected on a towering home run to deep centerfield to give the Manatees a 5-4 lead.

CF would then go on to score five runs in the top of the sixth all after there were two outs. Kareh Valentin tied the score when he doubled home Sam McAleer. Valentin would give the Pats the lead when he scored on a wild pitch. Edwin Toribio singled home two runs and Bayne scored on an error to push the lead to 9-5. Another hit by Valentin in the seventh inning tallied the Pats 10th and final run.

CF closer Cam Schuelke did his job and closed the door on the Manatees tossing the final three innings allowing no runs, no hits, no walks, and striking out five batters.

The twelve straight wins to start a season is the best start in school history. The Pats will try to add to their winning start when they travel to Clearwater on Friday to play St. Petersburg College. Game time is 1:00 PM at Jack Russell Stadium.
