Pats Win 10th in a Row to Start Season

The #1 FCSAA ranked College of Central Florida Patriots (10-0) have started the 2023 season on a ten game winning streak after defeating #8 ranked Indian River State College 8-3 on Saturday afternoon in Ft. Pierce.

CF starting pitcher, James Hill improved to 3-0 on the season after tossing five shutout innings allowing only five hits, one walk, and striking out three Pioneer batters. It was a pitchers duel through the first five innings as Pioneer starter, Gavin Adams went four innings allowing only one hit, one run and striking out seven batters. The Patriots were up 1-0 when they erupted for three runs in the sixth inning on run scoring base hits by Edwin Toribio, Kainen Jorge, and a Sam McAleer which pushed the lead to 4-0. After CF loaded the bases in the eighth inning Kareh Valentin singled home the Pats fifth run. An Indian River wild pitch made it 6-0 followed by a Bradke Lohry single up the middle to score two more to make it an 8-0 game. Indian River averted the shutout when Danny Baez hit a two run home run in the bottom of the eighth.

The Patriots improve to 10-0, one of the best starts in program history, while the Pioneers fall to 7-3. CF will hit the road again on Monday when they travel to Lakeland to take on the Florida Southern JV. First pitch is at 6:00 PM.
