Patriots Extend Winning Streak to 9 with 17-4 Route of Panthers

Patriots short stop Kareh Valentin was an RBI machine on Friday afternoon driving in four runs on three hits to lead the #1 FCSAA ranked College of Central Florida (9-0) to a 17-4 victory over the South Florida State College Panthers (3-8).

Brian Holiday (1-0), an Oklahoma State commit started for the Patriots and went 5.2 innings allowing 4 hits, 3 runs and striking out 8. Hunter Pankey (2.1 IP, 0H, 0R, 2K) and Logan Plasencia (1.0 IP, 1H, 1R, 1K) closed out the game.

The Pats broke the game wide open after jumping out to a 6-3 lead by scoring eight runs in the seventh inning. Edwin Toribio led off the inning with his first home run of the season followed by a hit by pitch and two walks. Aaron Saltsman then singled home a run and John Marant scored on a wild pitch. Valentin singled home two more and Carson Bayne tripled on a line drive to centerfield to make it 14-3. CF would add three more runs in the top of the ninth inning on Bradke Lohry's second home run of the season and a two run single by Marant.
