CF Defeats Miami Dade in Extra Innings and Loses to #4 Ranked Salt Lake CC

Game 1 - Win 15-10 vs Miami Dade College

In game one the Patriots were up by two in the 7th but squandered their lead by giving up a 2-run double to tie the game. They proceeded to score 7 runs in the top of the 8th to take the lead back from the Sharks. The 7-run inning started out with a RBI single by Emily Konz.

The Patriots had 17 hits and mashed four home runs on the day. Brooke Roberts had a dinger in the first inning. Katie Hogue went big fly twice, once in the third and again in the eighth innings. Alyssa Adams helped add on to their lead with a homer in the eighth inning. Kamaya Cohen also added to the offense today with 3 doubles and went a perfect 4 for 4 at the plate. Savannah Barnett got the win on the mound and Jodasea Peterson pitched an inning to close out the game.

Game 2 - Loss 3-7 vs Salt Lake Community College

Game two was a match up between NJCAA #4 ranked Salt Lake Community College and the #13 ranked College of Central FL. The Patriots out hit the Bruins 12 to 8, however the difference was in the defense. The Patriots commited 4 errors leading to 3 unearned runs. Jodasea Peterson took the loss throwing four and two thirds innings surrendering 5 runs, 3 earned, on 5 hits.

Brooke Roberts, Gianna Guerriero, Emily Konz, Garnett-Brown, and Katie Hogue each had multiple hits for the College of Central FL and Lily Garnett-Brown hit the Pats lone home run in the second inning.

The Patriots will play two more games on Sunday, February 5th vs Louisburg College at 10:30 AM and College of Southern Idaho at 12:30 PM.
