Barnett Throws No Hitter as Patriots Split DH at State College of Florida

Savannah Barnett followed up game one's tough loss with a No Hitter to lead the Patriots to a 9-0 victory over the Manatees. She threw 5 innings facing sixteen batters while striking out nine and only walking one. She only needed to throw 67 pitches in the contest and landed 42 of them for strikes. This was Savannah's secondwin of the season (2-2).

The offense was led by Brooke Roberts (2 for 3) with two runs and an RBI and Hannah Meyer (1 for 3) with a 2 RBI and a double. The Patriots scored 9 runs with 8 hits in the game. Madisyn Riggins, Brooke Roberts, Katie Hogue, Emily Konz, and Gabbie Haas each had RBIs in the Patriots five-run first inning.

In game one the Patriots got on the board early with three runs in the first however they surrended runs in each of the first three innings to State College of Florda who took a 6-3 lead. The Patriots were able to add two more runs in the 5th inning after Brooke Roberts hit a one-out triple to score Kamaya Cohen and then later scored on Katie Hogue's single. The comback came a little too short as they ended up losing 6-5. Alyssa Adams and Roberts each had multiple hits in the game. 

The Patriot's softball team will be back in action with a double header on Saturday in their home opener vs St Petersburg College starting at 1 PM.
