The College of Central Florida softball team clinched their 2022 Mid-Florida Conference Championship with two wins over St Johns River State College on Thursday. This gives the Patriots back to back conference championships and their sixth championship in the last eight years. The Patriots finished conference play with a 16-4 record, three games ahead of both Santa Fe College  and Seminole State who both finished at 13-7. The Patriots become the first team in the state to reach 40 wins and are now 41-15 overall. With their first place finish, the Patriots have automatically earned a spot in the Region 8 State Tournament at the Boombah Soldiers Creek Park in Longwood, FL beginning on May 6. The Patriots are scheduled to play the first game at 10 AM against the Suncoast Conference Runner Up.
