OCALA--The College of Central men's basketball team closed out the final home game of the season with a bang, downing Daytona State College 100-71 on Saturday night at Patriot Gym. This is the seventh time this season the Patriot offense has scored at least 100 points in a single game.

CF (23-6, 8-3) got out to a commanding 42-29 lead at the half and didn't let down as they led by as many as 33 points in the second half and outscored the Falcons 58-22 to secure the win.

Rajan Barnes scored a career-high 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while Canberk Kus added 20 points, Quenton Jackson had 13, and Xzavier Barmore, Kevin Hunt Jr. and Van Turner Jr. each scored 10.

As a team, CF shot 50 percent from the field and the Patriot bench outscored the Falcon's bench 51-7.

CF travels to Santa Fe College on Wednesday for the final regular season game of the year. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. in Gainesville.

State Tournament update: Eastern Florida holds a one game advantage over CF with two games remaining. EFSC will head on the road to Daytona State and Santa Fe next week. CF has to defeat Santa Fe and the Titans have to drop at least one game in order for the Patriots to clinch the Mid-Florida Conference title and secure a spot in the upcoming state tournament. If EFSC wins out, CF will go into a playoff to battle for the second MFC state tournament spot. Stay tuned to CFPatriots.net for updates.
