Gandia hits buzzer beater to lift CF over Santa Fe

OCALA--College of Central Florida point guard Ivan Gandia hit a buzzer-beating floater to clinch a crucial conference win for the Patriots over rival Santa Fe College on Wednesday night in Gainesville.

CF was knotted up at 81-81 with four seconds remaining. Francois Lewis inbounded the ball to Gandia who drove inside the paint and put up the game-winning floater as time expired to win it 83-81. With the win, the Patriots and Saints are now 1-2 in Mid-Florida Conference play.

Gandia led all scorers with 23 points, finishing the night 10-for-15 from the field. He added nine assists and six rebounds while not turning the ball over. 

The Patriots will be back in action on Wendesday, January 25 when they host a conference doubleheader against Florida State College at Jacksonville. The women will tip off at 6 p.m. and the men will follow at 8 p.m. Wednesday's game is also Academic Night. The CF Athletic Department will honor all student-athletes during halftime of the men's game for their accomplishments in the classroom during the fall term.
